We are a busy Urgent Care/Occ Med clinic at LAX airport, Los Angeles. We implemented STIX in record time. Integritas provided a high level of support, and they even converted data from our existing occ med software, which made the transition easier. We have had STIX since 2000 when we installed it for our occ med clinic. We now have two clinics using STIX, our Emergency Department accesses employer work comp protocols after hours, and we plan to install it in a Family Practice clinic in 2009.
STIX makes us more profitable because we have tighter control over everything. We have control from scheduling to discharge to billing. It’s an easy process that doesn’t take a lot of skill for someone to learn, which saves time and money in training. You don’t have to waste months training someone on the system.
We tend to get our payments back a little quicker than the hospital does on their billings, because the physician notes are automatically sent with the claim, and we don’t have many denials on our claims. The charges are entered automatically by STIX when the doctors use the electronic charting templates, which saves us so much time.
Our companies are very happy with the service they get, they know that our records are well-maintained and that if they need anything, they call us and we can get them a report by fax or e-mail pretty quickly.

We see urgent care, occ med and primary care patients, and without a doubt, the STIX EHR makes this mix completely workable for us. Everything I need is right there in the electronic chart, and STIX has increased our ability to code much better.

I have 5 clinics in which we see a lot of urgent care and occ med, as well as a large percentage of primary care patients. I have found the STIX EHR to be easy to use, simple to learn, and above all, fast. It was clearly designed by people who know what our practice needs.
We do some of everything here: Walk In Urgent Care, Family Practice, Occupational Medicine. STIX works well for it all; we've used it now since 2002. On the Urgent Care side, I especially like that it's fast and complete: you capture everything in the visit record and you've got your billing done, your referrals done. And you can refer to everything so easily. Anytime I can just go to STIX and find what I need to know without pulling a chart, I'm happy.
I really like that the billing is so easy. STIX knows who the payer is and sorts out all those employer or lab or TPA or insurance charges. I can even do the billing from home, which I really like, and have it printed in the office. Other practices around here mostly have their billing done by a service, but I find it easy to do it myself, which saves us a lot of money. You can cross reference everything between the clinical and billing so easily, without having to jump around a lot.
Our employers love the work status summary, they know when the patient is here and when he leaves, what the work restrictions are, and so on. We fax it to them right away from STIX, before the patient even gets back to work. I had one company call me one time while I was at home, asking me about an employee's audiograms from one year to the next. I could just dial in to STIX and print a report for the employer that compared the various audiograms, showed where there was a shift, which was simple and great––and all from home! I didn't have to bother anyone at the office.
STIX has been a big positive for us. I would definitely recommend it.
We have been more than thrilled with the STIX software. We combined three separate programs that ran our drug testing program, employee health program, and clinic operations into one streamlined, seamless system. The sales management module is a bonus, as we can review and track sales outcomes in the same program as well! The ability to have client protocols, billing, and outcome/productivity reporting out of one system has been a huge win for us. Client companies love our ability to email work status summaries at checkout. And with the built-in encryption process it's also HIPAA compliant!. The reports we can generate for our employers are slick, easy and useful.
We have a resident who works part-time with us, and in one day he was using the electronic health record, no problem. He’s very computer literate, but even our other docs found the EMR easy, and in a week, they were using it well. They like it. The EMR has also decreased our labor. We used to have four people up front; we now have two.
